Maya takes on the challenge of composer Catherine Lamb's fascinating music with sound artist Wouter Snoei.

Catherine Lamb (American, living in Berlin) received one of the most important music awards in Europe, the Siemens Prize, in 2020, occupies a very distinctive position with her atmospheric and meditative-sounding music. She soon distanced herself from the university classical training system in California and became fascinated by classical North Indian music and Eastern philosophy, among other things. Also in “The Additive Arrow” revolves around the pure sounds of instruments and the hues in between, Lamb directs how sounds, with the help of electronics and the properties of space itself, develop on the spot "live. She approaches her music like a sound artist, subtly mixing sounds from outside the concert hall into her music as well. “The Additive Arrow” (2021) is directly inspired by the art and ideas of Paul Klee, the famous visual artist and thinker. The piece, therefore, in the performance by Maya Fridman and Wouter Snoei will undoubtedly provide a new listening experience.
